he bra market is a world apart, we know it! As you may well have seen, we can find a wide variety of models and designs, with one type of fabric or another, with or without lace -without lingerie-, with or without straps, or with a type of fastener or closure,  another, among other issues. In this article we want to help you find the bra that best suits you, the one that makes you feel great inside and out and that allows you to show off the most beautiful neckline. Therefore, below, we explain the different types of bras that exist and what you should take into account when you go to buy one of them. Keep reading this article to find the ideal bra for you.

Types of bra cups and sizes

They are two different things that not everyone pays attention to. The size corresponds to the contour that goes below the chest. That is to say, it indicates the size of the bra’s circumference – it could be 70, 80, 90 … -, while the cup is calculated by measuring the contour of the highest part of the chest, being able to find up to 10 types of cups of bra with different measurements ranging from A —smallest— to J —larger. It is important that you pay attention to both measurements before buying your bra to ensure that you are not over or under.

With or without underwire?

It is another of the most frequent doubts that we usually have when buying a bra, that is, if it should have underwires or not. As a general rule, most bras usually have underwires, these are the most used. The rings surround the contour of the breasts and are responsible for providing greater support and fixation, improving comfort and even giving the chest a more rounded shape or raising it slightly. Now, underwired bras should fit perfectly against the body. When buying an underwire bra, make sure it doesn’t dig into the skin or separate from the body between the breasts, otherwise it will be annoying and may not feel too good.

In the case of non-wired bras, these are more used for those who have less breasts. For example, teenagers, those who have recently had surgery, or those who have a small size … In addition, these bras stand out for the great comfort they provide. The choice of one or another type of bra will therefore depend on the size of each one of us.

Types of bras

Having clarified what are the different types of bra cups and other issues related to the choice of bras, we can now go on to explain what the different types of bras are. Next, we explain which are the most popular, keep in mind that it is possible to find other different models, although they will be variations -mainly- of the bras that we describe here. Remember, likewise, what effect this generates depends on the type of bra you are wearing, so look for the one that makes you feel good inside and out.

Triagle bra

The triangle bra, as its name suggests, is one that has a triangular shape. These bras have no underwire or padding, making them ideal for women who have less breasts or who want to show off a slightly bolder neckline.

Push up bra

They are the star bras to increase breast volume. This bra centers the breasts and brings them together, which gives the sensation of increasing their volume. In addition, they have a preformed cup with a foam filling —which are internal pads located inside the cups— thanks to which the chest is rounded, enhanced and stylized. We can also find push-up bras with removable padded – so that we can take advantage of the push-up effect whenever we want, as well as to avoid transparency. As you can imagine, these bras create a plunging neckline.

Balconette bra

Or balcony bras. They are bras with a very feminine and sensual neckline with straps that come from the sides. These bras are half cup, that is, it is cut practically past the nipples. It is a very sensual and feminine garment that provides a daring and delicate neckline and is suitable to combine with low-cut garments.

Reducer bra

There are those who seek to increase and stylize the size of the chest and those who prefer to hide it a little. This type of bra is designed for the latter case, for those who wonder what type of bra makes less breast. And it is that reducing bras are intended exclusively for it. With these, women who have larger breasts can hide it in a natural and feminine way. What these bras do is redistribute it, lifting it slightly and flattening it.

Invisible bra
